INTERNING W/ HEBRU BRANTLEY
September 21, 2019
Courtesy of Kendall Hurns, Stew gained an opportunity to intern with Hebru Brand Studios during his senior year at Cornell College. For a month, the successful entrepreneur and native Chicagoan, Kendall Hurns, took Stew under his wing where he advised him on building authentic relationships and maintaining a good brand image.
Stew's task as a Product Development intern was to assist with Hebru's Nevermore Park art experience.
Hebru Brantley is a multi-disciplined artist who uses his characters FlyBoy & Lil Mama as a vehicle to drive his narrative on diversity and inclusion of people of color in the arts. Hebru has worked with and/or became associates with the likes of Hublot, BAPE, Jay-Z, Pharrell, and Chance the Rapper to name a few.
From breaking down Hebru's figurines for artistic purposes for Nevermore Park to building shelves and logging all of Hebru's merchandise into a directory, Stew gained an experience like no other in Chicago.
